Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Feb 12, 2004 8:50 pm I need help! We are building a new home and need some advice. I really like the warm look of stained trim, crown molding and windows in a home. I also like the white wainscotting and trim in a formal living room and dining room. Can you combine the two design elements in a home? The foyer would be stained with a combined stained and painted stair rail. The living and dining room that are attached to the foyer would be white trim, the rest of the trim would be stained except for three large pillars in the family room that would be white. Does this make sense?
Please adivse. Is the going trend painted trim? In a large two story family room it seems very cold to me, especially on the windows. Thanks! Re: New Home: Painted or Stained Trim? 2Jan 11, 2005 9:27 pm i have a home builti in the 50's. It has Jarrah floors, picture rails and door frames. Somewhere in the past 50 years someeone has white glossed hald of the house while leaving the rest natural. They do not clash as the design of the house allows for roomes to be closed off, and therefore does not ruin the 'flow'. I am attempting to refinish all the wood back to its natural colour, but i suppose it depends on your taste. i THink that while has a more classy feel, where as wood is homely and warm. 7 3013 Is it just a report written to give to the bank initially and it is based on what and how your payments are made up for, or is it a full service where they go out and… 2 5607 Skjm You might want to watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKx-bsOr2jg If that link doesn't work go to youtube and search for Zac Homes ACA I am really… 1 4024 |
