Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Apr 10, 2009 5:24 pm Hi everyone! Last thing for me to choose is our internal wall colour. I am only going to choose one colour for throughout the house, as that is what is included in the builder cost. If I want to change it after moving in, I'll get it sorted then. So, am looking for suggestions for a wall colour, that will co-ordinate with what is already selected. I liked Dulux Buff It and Hogs Bristle, but what strength do you think? Also, does it matter that we are having Hogs Bristle as our render colour? Thanks in advance ETA- I think (and hope) the colours I have posted are not accurate, as the Shadow looks purple-y, and the Pearl Bique looks pink-y! That's not what they look like on my samples... Re: Paint colour help needed 2Apr 10, 2009 9:37 pm I really like your colours CarolineJ! As I was reading them I was thinking that Hogs Bristle would look good with them. Full or half - I guess it depends on your personal preference? I'd go half myself, and white skirtings/architraves/doors! Re: Paint colour help needed 3Apr 11, 2009 8:34 am Hog Bristle is a great colour and it would suit your decor, I think. I have this on my walls and 1/4 strength on the skirtings architraves and ceilings. In regard to your carpet, a deeper shade would be more practical for you as it shows less marks and wouldnt have to be cleaned as often. You could go for a deeper shade for the carpet if you wanted to, in the Hog Bristle colour tone or a nice rich brown. I am a very practical person and I hate marks on my carpet! Buff it is also a great colour but it has a pink tone whereas Hog Bristle is more yellow. You have to be careful that you dont mix the 2 tones when choosing your colour scheme. I have a deep taupe/biscuit coloured carpet. Hog Bristle full and 1/4. Russian toffee is in the bedrooms with the 1/4 Hog Bristle. Harold and Rich Biscuit are feature walls. I also have rich biscuit on the ceiling in my rumpus room with russian toffee on the walls. I have bulkheads in this room so ceiling is a feature. My house is 60 squares so I am able to use the bolder colours. The render on my house is Gnu Tan with Trend off white windows and deep grey tile roof. All Dulux colours. Also Light Rice at 1/2 or 1/4 would also be good. Re: Paint colour help needed 5Apr 11, 2009 1:13 pm I was going to say Buff It, and then saw you liked it. This is the colour I would go with. Also it will complement the Hog as your render. Its always nice to have externals and internals flowing.
