Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 24, 2009 8:55 pm Hi Michelle Have to pick vanity colours and am in a bit of a dilemma. Our main bathroom upstairs to be used mainly by kids and occasionally ourselves will be a 3 way bathroom. Entry is into the main vanity area which will have a double sink and leading off these will be 2 doors-one to the toilet and one to the shower/bathtub area. I really want to avoid browns too much in this room and would like to go for a brighter look with blues or greens. Our tile supplier does not really have any floor tiles in a nice blue or green so I was thinking of going for a sand coloured tile on the floor with white wall tiles. The tile shop has some blue/lime green feature tiles-seen in Sha's blog that I would like to incorporate as well. Getting back to the vanity area, what do you think of stipple aquatic for the doors? Top will be white moulded acrylic with a rectangular sink. It looks like such a pretty colour on the smsall chip but am not sure how it will look as a vanity. Is this too way out and will it look awful in a few years? Has anyone seen this done or have any pictures? There will be minimal wall tile in this area. Or should I go for white gloss laminate and paint the remaining wall apart from the mirror a nice blue to go with the floors? Sorry for the rather long post. Any opinions welcome. Thanks. Re: Stipple aquatic for bathroom vanity? 2Mar 24, 2009 9:18 pm Hi Sahana - not Michelle but have just done our selections for our young childrens' bathrooms. We have chosen to go with all white vanities in each of their ensuites however have chosen instead a feature tile to suit their little personalities. Miss almost 4 is having plummy lilac floor tiles with white wall tiles featuring a strip of glass mosaics in lilacs / plums / purples / fuschias. Master almost 2 is having steely grey floor tiles with the same white wall tiles. His feature stripe is charcoal / silver / white and red. The spare bedroom's ensuite had to be fairly neutral as we aren't yet expecting our next baby. It is having pale aqua-blue floor tiles with white wall and mosaic strip in the same aqua tonings. I adored the aqua tile when I saw it. It just looked so fresh and beachy. I think that having Stipple Aquatic for the vanity may feel a little "out there" compared to plainer colours. But in saying that I have different colours in every bathroom - 4 in all, powder rooms - 2 in total as well as the kitchen and laundry. So maybe don't follow my advice Choose what you love and makes you smile - this is my motto to choosing things. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ These are my aqua selections. I absolutely love it with the mosaics, it has a gorgeous sheen (I have a thing about shiny stuff ). Anyway just thought I'd pop this up for you as I had trouble finding what I was looking for in the laminate range. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ As you can see our mosaics are similar! I wish the tile shops and vanity companies would work together to help selections Re: Stipple aquatic for bathroom vanity? 10Mar 27, 2009 7:49 pm We have those green tiles as well for our bathroom. In the ensuite we picked the brown variant. Love both of them they look awesome! Will look even better when in grout as the white part you see will be filled in with the grout giving the tiles a floating effect.
