Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 12, 2009 7:09 pm Went around to check how the house was coming along tonight.
To my surprise the bathroom vanities and laundry cupboards were in and the guy was in the process of installing the kitchen Anyway, I have picked wilsonart wallaby for the 2 pak doors and they look a bit darker than I imagined. (the sun was setting though). I have picked half strength Wallaby for the doors and walls. The ceiling is white. Now I am wondering if I have made the right choice for the window sills architrave and skirting boards I have picked half strength wallaby the same as the walls and doors. Now I am wondering if I should maybe go white to lighten things up a bit as the floor and wall tiles are similar colour. Has anyone kept the walls and doors the same colour but put a lighter colour on the timber surrounding the doors and the skirting boards. If so could you all post pictures so I can get an idea of what it looks like. Pretty please Dont know if I have much time to let the painters know or even if its too late to change now Or if any of you think the original things I have picked would look better. Please give me your opinions. Thanks. Know where your going in life............... you may already be there Re: I need help quickly 2Mar 12, 2009 7:23 pm I don't think it's a drama. Painting is easy to fix. Wrong colour - do it yourself after handover & probably a lot cheaper than being hit a Building Variation. I just looked at the Wallaby laminate….its lovely! ½ strength on the wall is NOT too dark. Give it time; you will see it will be fine! I have had a real bad couple of days So having a glass of wine and maybe when I get up tomorow I will see things differently So are you saying to keep the timber work the same colour as the walls and doors and only having the ceiling a different colour? I think I have been expecting so much from this kitchen and now I feel everything is wrong As they say tomorow is another day Know where your going in life............... you may already be there Re: I need help quickly 5Mar 13, 2009 3:38 pm ½ Wallaby is light enough to go right through the house.
With only the ceiling in white. BUT…if you want, white will work on the skirting and arcks as well. Totally up to you, but ½ Wallaby is fine as far as the depth of colour. It’s not too dark like you asked in your first post.
