Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 08, 2009 4:50 pm Our bedroom window faces the townhouse behind us (downside of living in townhouses ). So we want maximum privacy from the outside, but without losing to much natural sunlight. We also will never really want the blinds open as there isn't much to see out of the window.
We've been looking at panel blinds and rollers, but DH suggested we could get a roller blind in a light filter fabric and then hang a picture or something over the window to provide extra privacy. Anyone everyone ever seen this done? This is actually blinds that have pictures printed on them - I do like this idea, but I'm sure I'd get sick of the picture and wont be able to change it without having to pay for more blinds, but this is kind of what I was thinking we could do, hang a set of canvas or something along the wall and over the window? I know Luxaflex will put photos onto blinds, but as you said, you better love the pic, cause it costs a bomb to do! I’m really stuck on this one; you might have to leave it with me for a while. Do you know an artist? No worries Michelle, take as long as you want, we still have a couple of weeks up our sleeves. Know an artist in Perth, which will be no use to me in a couple of days Started wondering, it would probably look odd if it appears there is no window in the room if we cover it???? Custom build! My cousin put some on his glass laundry door, it look fantastic! It comes in a roll, and you peal the back off. Not that expensive either. That will give you additional cover on the windows and take away the view from next door. Not going to cover the whole window, its 2400 x 1200. What I'm picturing is covering most of it, leaving an equal amount around the edge that will be covered by the light filter blind. Think I'm over thinking it. Just really don't want to use blockout fabric, as they will be closed all the time. Custom build! I think it is very much like the film they use for privacy in office buildings. I just text across the glass in my front door, the name of my house. It's been fine so far, the edges have all stayed well bonded to the glass etc. Re: Hanging pictures over window?? 18Mar 13, 2009 12:10 pm M!ssy Our bedroom window faces the townhouse behind us (downside of living in townhouses ).
