Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 07, 2009 6:53 pm I wasn't sure where to post this one but thought I'd put it in here coz we discovered the issue when installing our curtains.
Basically the curtain installer told us that either the floor or ceiling 'slopes away by 50 mm' in the upstairs rumpus room. Thankfully we have a pelmet which disguises the track which is naturally placed on an uneven angle on the wall. DH and I couldn't tell it was uneven but the curtain guy thought it was a bit unusual. We know houses are never completely straight but 50 mm seems a bit out of the ordinary??? Or is it? Does anyone think this is a problem??? Is our house going to slide next door Mods please put this in a different forum if approp. Ta p.s. of course we would contact the builder BUT HE DOESN'T ANSWER ANY CALLS Re: New house - uneven floor causes probs with curtains 2Mar 07, 2009 6:59 pm Dy you poor things, the saga continues with your house ...
I don't know things like this, but a 50mm slope - that's 5 centimetres - can't be right. Do things roll? How is your downstairs floor now? I just sent an email to the builder letting him know that if he doesn't finish our house we will see him in Court . Outstanding items .... 5 months after moving in: missing fly wire screens on windows and doors missing door furniture upstairs no flue kit to the stove lifting floorboards following flooding due to lack of first fix plumbing poor tiling on balcony (incomplete grouting) no insulation in roof space no electrical wiring of the solar h/w service uneven tiling in ensuite bathroom I'm beyond angry ... now I just want my day in Court. . He's just lucky we've been so busy with work to date. Anyone know a good lawyer in Adelaide ???
