Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Mar 02, 2009 8:23 am Hi Michelle,
we have our colour selction appotinment tomorrow and my partner and i are puling our hair out over what wall colour to have. We are having a beige/sandy porcelian tile with a chocloate brown kitchen and wanted a warm white wall, something that will go with those colours! We are leaning towards Stowe white, and was just wondering what you think of this colour and if you can suggest any other warm white colours that will go with the rest of our house! also we are confused about the stregnth to go on walls, ceilings etc.. is it 1/2 strength on celings, full on walls and 1.5 strength on skirtings etc? Thanks so much for your help! Cheers, Sam Re: Stowe White - is this a warm white? 2Mar 02, 2009 1:43 pm Talk about leave it to the last minute!!!!! Thanks so much any help would be greatly appreciated! im just not sure if our colour white we like is the best one, as i was also thinking of whisper white? Cheers, Sam Re: Stowe White - is this a warm white? 4Mar 02, 2009 4:37 pm Sam…..I like the Stowe White, it has just enough depth for a flow colour throughout a house, and is not too dark.
The only other one I like is China White for your chocolates…..but Stowe is good! So let’s look at the current trend, one your painter will love you for……and will cost less money to do. Ceilings – either ceiling “white” or Stowe ½ Walls – Stowe White full strength. Doors, skirts & arks – Stowe White Full strength As I said, Stowe White is light enough to use right through the house, so don’t be scared…..use it, there is no need to lighten this colour at all, except for the ceilings. I hope this has helped. Good luck tomorrow!!!! In fact I like it so much, I will be continuing into other areas of the house. In case you are interested, my kitchen has warm timber floors, antique white cupboards, granite benchtops. The Stowe White walls are very similar to the antique white of my cupboards. The window sills etc are also Stowe White but in gloss paint. Hope this helps.
