I am so excited to have found this forum! My partner and I have recently purchased a heritage listed property built in 1905, and have started to repaint and renovate. It has beautiful timber floorboards and we just painted the ceilings white (to the picture rail)and the walls hogs bristle. The skirting boards are the same colour as the flooring (perhaps a little darker). We are trying to find a colour to provide a contrast for the door frames and doors.
