Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Feb 17, 2009 2:40 pm Okay so our standard builders range for doorhandles are Gainsborough Terrace or Villa.
In this rental we have lever handles (brand new Masterton home) but I can't say that I am absolutely in love with them at all. And to be honest there are no handles that are just jumping out at me. I priced some lever sets on eBay but when you add it all up it is close to $400 for every door. This to me seems a little bit of overkill for door handles. So keeping in mind that I like plain solid things and door knobs / handles are not high on my agenda (would prefer a fancy light fitting somewhere!!) here are my choices:- Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Door Knobs question. 4Feb 17, 2009 4:17 pm Do you really need those sets for internals Kyton?
The ones you have put up are for the main doors of the house, front & back doors. You should be able to get sets like that without the locks in them for all the internal doors cheaper than those you have put up. So just to clarify ours will be plain handles without the keyed lock in the centre. Just to choose which shape - the ball shape or the tulip shape (as described by Gainsborough!!) Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Door Knobs question. 6Feb 17, 2009 4:33 pm second one.....much more stylish. If i had to choose only out of them I'd go the 2nd. Our standard knob this time was much rounder though and I hated it ( this build) we ended up upgrading to lever handles but otherwise were going with something like the 2nd one. Black on light wood does look good. Not sure if it will be as long lasting as a steel finish? 6 6346 I’m in a similar position except I’m after sliding 3 stacking doors. I am on a second-story apartment of which the balcony would not adequately fit any bi-fold or… 5 16126 Current door width is approx 2700, looking to have double doors fitted 820-820. What size does the frame need to be before door jamb? Thanks 0 3544 |
