Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jan 20, 2009 1:20 pm I'm looking for some inspiration for colour schemes/themes/etc inside houses (and anywhere! Bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, etc). I've found websites talking about what colours mean and everything, but I like all colours, and the meanings are all good for different reasons, so it didn't help narrow anything down at all.
So do you know any good websites with lots of pictures of housing interiors? Or anything else that might help? Or do you have any pictures of your house interiors that you love or anything that might help? I'd love to start narrowing it down so that when we get to the colour selection stage I may be able to find something I really like..... Thank you all in advance. Re: Colour Schemes/Themes/etc ideas 4Jan 20, 2009 2:34 pm No probs - I'm from Syd but the site is Porter Davis - a Melb builder (quite a lot of H1 members build with them)

It’s the best I’ve seen. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Colour Schemes/Themes/etc ideas 10Jan 23, 2009 9:44 am I know! It's really useful I've sent it onto a few people here at work who are building too (along with a link to this forum!)
I've sent it to my partner to get him to help narrow it down as the styles I like are all over the place (Eg. Some of my favourites are Alpine Ski Lodge, Asian Zen, French Provincial (I LOVE the hanging pots!), Shabby Chic, and Tobacco Resort). Actually, one question Michelle. Would the colour theme of Alpine Ski Lodge make a house look smaller? Someone said that dark colours make things look smaller, but it looks stunning in that photo. Re: Colour Schemes/Themes/etc ideas 11Jan 23, 2009 10:01 am You will need largish rooms, but if you lighten the darker colours slightly you will be able to get away with it if your rooms are smaller.
Nice style. Then we pretty much based our house on 2 displays that we had seen. We got the name of the paint colours and floor tiles etc from the sales consultants.
The good thing about this was that we could see the colours in full, rather than just a silly little sample. I agree that the PD website is a great tool aswell. ~ Hels ~ Blog: http://bluemistkids.blogspot.com "Never be afraid to try something new.
