Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jan 15, 2009 12:29 pm Has anyone used Dulux Once for any of their painting? We were thinking about paying the premium just so we didn't have to painstakingly do a second-coat.
But if it's going to look crap or not do a good job, then we don't want to waste our money. Thanks for your thoughts. I didnt know there was such a product, I hate hate hate doing the second coat!! Re: Dulux Once - any thoughts? 4Jan 15, 2009 2:04 pm We found it a little hard last time to tell exactly where we had actually gone with the second coat...
And, plus, we want to do a good job... but would very much like to just have to do one coat of a good job rather than two Re: Dulux Once - any thoughts? 5Jan 15, 2009 2:19 pm Don't we all..... Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Dulux Once - any thoughts? 6Jan 15, 2009 8:39 pm We have used it on our current house. Personally I loved it. Wouldn't go back to using "normal"paint again. Washes up in water, one coat and you are done, comparable dry time with other paint.
We did the proper preparation with washing down with sugar soap etc and it came out really well. We're really happy with it. Things we found: 1. Get the dulux once roller that you can buy, we found it really did go on better with that roller and gave a better finish. We did try cheaper rollers. 2. Good preparation is important, you get a better cover after washing down the walls. I tried to ******** in one room, and then washed the all the other walls. 3. It goes on thicker than other paint, don't expect to get the same coverage out of the same size tin as you do with "normal" paints. 4. Don't roll it out too much (see above) It should go on thicker, so load up the roller. Hope that this helps. Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply again.
