Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jan 10, 2009 5:58 pm I have bought a plot in Madeley (in WA), and have chosen my builder. My plans are having their last minute changes made to them, as well as the lighting plan is being finished. I have chosen my tiles for the bathrooms but have yet to go for my pre-start meeting. I would love some advice on the colours of the outside. I will post the elevation, (as well as the builders).
I was thinking of either cappucino or grape bristle tiles (Marseille range)with either Austral brick Telfer or Cream Rustic as the face brick at the back and sides. I am having render in the front. As you can see, there is a feature wall in the front (which is the main bedroom). For my acrylic texture render, I am only allowed certain Taubman colours (without paying a penalty). Chambray, Vanilla Frost, Wooloware, Bogan, Greenstead, Weathered stone and bears foot. I can also have Surfmist, woodland grey and ironstone from the Colorbond range ... Congratulations on making a start to building your own home. BTW tell your daughter you can post multiple things in a single post. and using the edit button you can go back and delete the info in a post and fix it up. Just for future reference. Re: Help ... I need a bit of moral support with my colours ? 11Jan 10, 2009 6:48 pm Mtuba2 ... (I thought Colorbond was a roof?? You can get all the colorbond colours in paints. Which is good, they are great paint colours. So what roof colour are you thinking? Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Help ... I need a bit of moral support with my colours ?! 12Jan 10, 2009 6:49 pm They come as paint colours so you can match gutters and facia, or in our case match alfresco posts to facia and roof colour. There are also closely matching colours for garage doors as well.
If you get a chance go and ahve a look at some places where they have used the telfer bricks. Seeing it in a large wall can make a brick look quite different to a small sample. For example our brick is the Collie by austral and in the onscreen sample it looks almost pink. But it's not pink at all, more of a whtie /yellow colour. The bricks in our rental are a cream. ( think midland brick) but they actually have a pinkish tinge when you see them all together. I need a bit of moral support with my colours ?! 14Jan 10, 2009 6:57 pm I never knew that!! I have sooo much to learn! I am hoping my pre-start lady is kind and patient (although I am trying to have as much as I can chosen before I get there) Re: Help ... I need a bit of moral support with my colours ?! 15Jan 10, 2009 6:59 pm I had to choose the plan carefully, as I have a 22 year old daughter living with me at the moment, so she wanted a big room (bed 3), but the house had to also be small enough so that I don't rattle around in it on my own when she eventually moves out Re: Help ... I need a bit of moral support with my colours ?! 16Jan 10, 2009 7:04 pm It's a great plan. I think you will be fine. You can shut off what you don't need later. I like the way your outdoor area is part of the house. And a bath in the ensuite too.! very nice. I notice you've made sure you have a door on that internal laundry door. No idea why so many plans don't have that.
OMG wait 'til Joles sees your WIL. Nice size. Re: Help ... I need a bit of moral support with my colours ?! 17Jan 10, 2009 7:11 pm I had such a nice sales guy. Listened to everything I wanted, and added it in (lots of it in the price, I may add!). I told him I loved soaking in a bath, and have only had one since I have been in Australia (8 years!!), as our baths in Africa were so lovely and deep, that he upgraded me to a 1800 for free! Also gave me cupboards in the laundry and tiling in the laundry and WIL which I believe most builders don't do. Re: Help ... I need a bit of moral support with my colours ?! 18Jan 10, 2009 9:01 pm D@n, do you think you could try to colour my house? I thought for the front rendering it would be Taubmans Bear Foot and then the Bogan for the feature wall (between the windows). The roof is Bristile Marseille Cappucino or Grape.
Thanks. Re: Help ... I need a bit of moral support with my colours ?! 19Jan 10, 2009 9:09 pm Mtuba2 D@n, do you think you could try to colour my house? Is there a colour called Bogan????? That's fantastic... I don't know what it is... but I know I want it! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Help ...
