Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jan 09, 2009 5:42 pm Hi everyone.
Ok. I need your colour ideas. I'm in picture rail hell. Firstly - our study. I really, really want to paint it green but have no idea if it will look good and my husband is completely unconvinced that it will be possible for green to look good. I'm not set on green, but I would really like to try something other than white. We are going with a shade of white throughout the living areas (lounge, dining and kitchen) so I kind of thought a nice hint of colour in the middle might break it up and keep me from going mental. I was thinking a slightly darker shade on the bottom and slightly lighter on the top and keeping the rails themselves the main shade from the bottom of the wall but still painting the windows white and keep the cornices white? The pic below is a view into the study from the lounge room. Please ignore hideous kitchen and hideous blue carpet as both will be gone soon. We will have dark polished timber floors once sans carpet.
