Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jan 05, 2009 9:12 am Hello all,
Please help us select one from the below for our formal lounge. Either this fabric set in cream colour (3 + 2) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ or this set in leather (3 + 2 + 1) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The room size is big (around 7 meters x 4.2 where we are also planning to have a pool table) Thanks Our Entertainer - http://ausdreamhome.blogspot.com/ Re: Please help us select the formal lounge set? 2Jan 05, 2009 9:34 am If you like both and cannot decide, then which one is the more comfortable to sit on??
Just by looking at the pics, I would go for the second (leather). It has a higher back, and therefore more support for your head. Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! Re: Please help us select the formal lounge set? 4Jan 05, 2009 10:57 am Hi satskape,
I have the first one, in wheat (I wouldn't recommend the wheat colour though, it just gets far to dirty... I constantly have to get it cleaned!!). I can say its really comfy, and although the back isn't very high you can just vege-out because the seat is quite deep. We have the 4 seater and matching ottoman and the length is great- we use it as a spare bed when we have guests. As for the leather one, my only gripe is that you tend to stick to it during the warmer summer months... if you have air-con it's probably not an issue Still, I love the Zero range and it's affordable too! Re: Please help us select the formal lounge set? 5Jan 05, 2009 11:17 am Thanks Stormy & ICK.
Troy - Thanks - If we go for the fabric one we will stay off from wheat and stick to the one in the pic. No we dont have air-con but we will have evap. cooling so I think it should be ok... we have already selected leather one for the family area. Its a good idea to use fabric one as a bed as it is wide enough.. Do you think the leather one looks more classy (I mean formal) or the fabric one? Our Entertainer - http://ausdreamhome.blogspot.com/ Re: Please help us select the formal lounge set? 6Jan 05, 2009 11:58 am I don't think the leather one looks any classier than the fabric, although leather has an intrinsic value greater than cloth. If you already have a leather couch though, I'd go with the Zero.
The textured material that you like would work great with some throw pillows in varying colours and sizes. I think fabric is often more inviting as leather can feel a little soulless or cold. So I'd head down that track, make the cloth couch the comfy warm and inviting one Either way you've picked two lovely suites so you must have good taste Can't wait to see the finished result. Re: Please help us select the formal lounge set? 8Jan 05, 2009 12:18 pm Sharee I'm not sure why but I think the leather one looks more formal - I think it is because of the high back. They are both lovely though. Didn't your DH tell you stop giving decorating advice Sharee? I also like the leather one. I love the fabric one as well. I don't thinbk there's any rules in defining spaces and both would work. But on the practical side, the fabric one would be easier to vacuum under as it has a bit of clearance. So you wouldn't have to move it all the time when you vacuum. Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Please help us select the formal lounge set? 9Jan 05, 2009 12:28 pm Thanks heaps for all your comments... My wife likes the fabric one and I am trying to convince her that the leather one looks more formal (but with almost double the price though)
And it was more comfy as well... Our Entertainer - http://ausdreamhome.blogspot.com/ Re: Please help us select the formal lounge set? 10Jan 05, 2009 12:56 pm satskape And it was more comfy as well... THAT is the most important thing! Which one is more prone to damage or stains? And do you recommend buying leather care or fabric care warranty for stains and damage? Our Entertainer - http://ausdreamhome.blogspot.com/ Re: Please help us select the formal lounge set? 12Jan 05, 2009 1:11 pm I have leather seats in my car, I hate them, but they wouldn’t change them when it bought the car.
So far the driver’s seat still looks good; I would get the leather care kit. Usually if you just keep up with a little cleaning and buffing of the leather you shouldn’t have any problems. Fabric lounges, never get one that hasn’t had the protection put on, that’s optional in the price, and they will pretty much make it clear to you if you buy the fabric one. Its worth while! I also hate leather, find it to cold in winter and hot and sticky in summer. Re: Please help us select the formal lounge set? 15Jan 05, 2009 1:30 pm To be totally honest, I think they both look unconfutable. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Please help us select the formal lounge set? 16Jan 05, 2009 1:33 pm No, no, the Zero (the fabric one) is really comfortable. The seat is about 700mm deep so there is lots of support. I like to much right down low with my legs on the ottoman and my head/neck supported by the backrest. The arms are great also as you can place a coaster and drink down easily without worrying about it toppling over.
I'll have to get some pics of me on the couch just to show how comfy it is lol Re: Please help us select the formal lounge set? 17Jan 05, 2009 1:39 pm IkonInteriors I'll have to get some pics of me on the couch just to show how comfy it is lol Now your talking!
