I was sick all last night so just came back to my thread
Thankyou to everyone who posted ideas...it will take me a little while to go through them. Lots of different ideas that just dont revolve around red, white and blue!
Teenage boy rooms are just so difficult Well at least it is with my kids who have no interest what so ever. They are happy as long as they are not embarassed to bring their friends into their rooms. DS1 wants a white room. DS2 wants what DS1 wants. DS3 is a baby so will have what Mum wants haha

I think you have nailed it! Michelle had those exact colours picked for me months ago as feature walls colours but the blue was in one room, the green in the other. The linen colour is so much like my flow colour.
Seeing them together....I just love the combination! I have got the names of the colours already. I will check out the Sanderson and Warwick bedlinen range today.
I know this is asking alot but if I had this colour combo for both older boys rooms, what other colour would look best with the 3 above...just an accent colour that could give an 'individual' look? Appreciate all advise

A couple of sites for inspiration:

Thanks Judy! Gees I wish we had Pottery Barn here and I don’t think they ship to Aust if I remember correctly. Beautiful rooms they have and so much choice. Is it just me but do all those rooms need to be tidied and beds made properly!

Thats a really nice room! Great colour conbination...something for me to think about. Its the brown I dont like with these colours but subsitute blue and how funky would that look.
So far I have...(In the right shades of course) Green, Blue and Linen.
Accent colours...orange, dark blue/navy (the Royal Battle colour Michelle picked on the first page) and maybe red for DS2 room.

Ummmm me being me.... I'd add a little charcoal or black. Not too much, but I think it grounds it a bit and makes it really boyish.
My DS loves black and charcoal. Thank god!
I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself.

I like the thought of a darker blue Mrs B, rather than adding another, totally different colour, but I like to play it a bit safe
Yes I like the dark blue Michelle picked as well...older son would like that!
If I can find the right bed linen, the rest of the colours will work themselves out.
Charcoal is a really nice colour...will see if it works in my blue and green colour scheme

Hi Mrs. B,
I love those 3 colours above..they look great together. Could you maybe use just 2 of those colours together as a theme throughout the 3 rooms ( ie green and linen..or blue and linen...but the green and linen would be my 1st choice! ) then add one more colour to each room to individualise it? Like - all of the above for one room, green, linen and red for another and green, linen and another colour ( perhaps a lighter blue or a shade of purple for the littlest one??

Being a fellow mum of 3 boys I feel your pain!!!
My eldest has a great Coast range (sheridan) doona with the 2 tones of blue and then green - calpyso. Its now discountinued. But you might find it around somewhere. It simple stripes but looks lovely with a feature wall behind. Its bright but also classy if that makes any sense.
One of my other kids has an adairs kids train style doona, with red, brown, navy etc again looks lovely with a bright feature wall. Also great as he is only little and it was near impossible finding a queen doona in a kids design but now adairs kids range comes in queen.
Hope this helps

OKaaaay......I'm obviously not with it but can I ask why littlies need queen size doonas ?
Not sure about the Queen size, but I always had a double on my DD’s single bed while she was growing up.
The thrasher shark, as I used to call her, could never keep the covers on her at night!
The bigger the doona the better she was covered at night.
Kids tend to move a lot more than adults, most of the time, covers are thrown off, ok in summer, but not good in winter.

Ooooooh, now I understand. As our kids weren't so restless, they didn't need the bigger sized doonas.

Well today I saw my house painted inside and can I say that Antique White USA is such a stunning white! I took some pics, will post later but photos dont do the colour any justice.

I know I shouldn’t say this because you are waiting to get in, but I can’t wait to see your house finished!!!
Glad you are feeling better today.

Yes it is a little bit of overkill.
DH and I had 2 q Bed when we met, so the eldest has a queen (at 5!), then we inherited a double (youngest at 2!) from in laws beach house... so another queen doona... then the middle child has 2 singles... go figure.

We are planning on replacing our boys standard single beds with kingsize singles once we move. Not sure i want them having doubles or queens just yet. But they'll both be more than 6ft hmm ,( 180 cms )tall and soon in the case of our 13 yr old i would think. He's 167cm now at 13 and 3 months. Their singles will go into the guest room. If eventually their beds need replacing for something else as adults then the kings will go into the guest room and the older singles will be gotten rid of.

Hi Mrs B
I think a really dark bitter chocolate colour would look good with the green, linen (colour = semi salted) and blue colours.
If you want to individualise the rooms maybe go with d/s semi salted and a dark blue (like Michelle suggested) for the second room. They will then look quite different.
Depends how you are planning on using the colours i.e. I know you have the kiwi green on the cupboards ... maybe do semisalted, blue and thin chocolate stripe feature on one wall and then get plain coloured doonas. ... Dunno its just a thought .
Feature doonas can make the room look quite busy ...
I think I found the Warwick fabric with the green, linen and blue ... its called Seaway!
edit: I've been interchanging the word linen with both the colour and fabric ... sorry for confusion . The Warwick fabric is a cotton linen mix.
