Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Dec 29, 2008 2:07 pm Hi Michelle and all other girls/guys who have ideas about colours
Currently our house is being painted Antique White USA. A beautiful colour and several people on the forum have already used it as their flow colour as well. I am really happy with all my colour choices so now is the time to pick accent colours and start thinking how I am going to decorate my 3 boys bedrooms. Each bedroom has the wardrobe doors sprayed Kiwi green in a gloss finish. What I am now after are ideas for colours to compliment the green. These colours can be used in the bed linen, lamp shades, chairs, ottomans, pictures, cushions etc. I have read that the following colours compliment the kiwi green....Robins Egg Blue, Light yellow (Mustard perhaps?) and Mocha. Any ideas Michelle? I am finding boys rooms very frustrating to find on the internet as they all tend to look the same...red, white and Blue, which I don’t want atm. Am I going the right direction with the above colours? Any other ideas? Mrs B Re: Complimentary Colours...... 2Dec 29, 2008 2:18 pm I know this bedroom is for a teenage girl, but gees I love the colours they have used...green, bown, blue, yellow. Picture courtesy of one of my favourite blogs...House of Turquoise.

I am on a mission of finding the right bedlinen for the two oldest boys If I have a colour scheme firmly in mind then everything should fall into place...I hope
BTW...my green couch arrived a few days ago...it is stunning with my accent coloured cushions and ottoman. All wrapt in plastic but I will see if I can take a quick picture hehe Mrs B Re: Complimentary Colours...... 5Dec 29, 2008 2:32 pm Still working on your colours keep watching! Rich biscuit...no, I dont want brown as a accent colour unless it is a deep rich colour (I think) I also like Reds but will it work with green? Thanks Michelle...any other colours you could throw in would be great...open to all suggestions I have even been looking at all the latest colours in towels as they seems to have the nicest colour combinations. I just have to make sure I pick colours that will last several years and the boys are not embarassed to invite friends into their rooms...last room I decorated for DS1... had beautiful blue and yellow stripe curtains, bedlinen from pumpkin patch and a rocking horse. Never could understand why he never let any of his friends up to see his room...they dont stay babies forever hehe Mrs B Re: Complimentary Colours...... 11Dec 29, 2008 3:16 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅

I saw some beautiful linen in these colours that would like great for a boys room. http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj229/DeeElle66/perfectocean.jpg http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj229/DeeElle66/semisalted.jpg Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It was beautiful. From memory it was a warwick thin stripe. Although the green was possibly more lime than the one on the screen. Re: Complimentary Colours...... 18Dec 29, 2008 7:36 pm ...
I'm not a big fan of green and orange ... sorry Mrs B but its a bit too vibrant for me. Throw in some purple net curtains and you'd have my bedroom in the 70's . Hey. Head to a metal and decide on which profile you will use first. Profiles with larger corrugations can greatly change the appearance of the color in different… 0 3388 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34274 |
