Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Dec 12, 2008 3:47 pm Hi Michelle,
I was thinking of making the main bedroom in our house black and a cream embossed doona, which is of the highest quality( I don't want to change it). I wanted to keep the same doona and bed and bedside tables, but give the room a bit of a revamp. I love black..I have some gorgeous black photo frames and was even considering black chandeliers too. Tell me what you think in all honesty!! The house is over 100 years old. We have some contemporary furniture in the other rooms, choc brown leather couches etc etc Re: Black and white/cream- your thoughts 2Dec 12, 2008 5:06 pm Leila……you couldn’t post a photo of the room could you?
Here’s how….. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=1272 This would make it easier for me to get a feel of what’s happening there. No doubt you have lovely high ceilings!! Beautiful! I would also like to see the doona cover to, black white and cream is very classy colour combo, but it needs to be done right, which is why I need to see it all. Perfect colours for your period home. I will get back to you.. We are currently renting our house out and will be renovating (but not our room soon), so I can't get access to the room However, I will post a photo of the room we are in at the moment in the house we are renting as it is similar! Just bear with me though. I just got a new camera for Christmas (early present) and I first have to load software on my comp etc. i haven't had time to sort that out yet. In the meantime though, I am intrigued about you saying black white can be "classy" as that is the exact effect i am wanting! Notice how the upper of the walls are painted white, picture rail height. This gives the appearance of the ceiling being higher and the walls being lower. Very well done! When using a really strong colour this is the best way to do it.
