Hoping for some help with my laundry and kids bathroom cabinet colours. The floor tile 300x300 called Arenaria Bruna - suggests a brown, but I would call it more an 'earthy grey. Gloss white 200x300 tiles as a spashback above the cupboards. I am thinking platinum micro flint finish for both the benchtop and cupboards for the laundry - or platinum micro for the benchtops and polar white for the cupboards. Would this work, or look dated? Are there other cupboard colours that would go with the platinum micro? If I can work out how to post some pics that aren't huge I will do so. My kitchen (which is not situated that close so I am not overly concerned for it to match exactly but want to keep the same tones ...) will have Essa stone purity benchtops, stipple seal below cupboards/drawers and polar white overheads and some brushed aluminium/frosted glass cupboards. The kids bathroom has the same tile colours, and white sink, vanity etc so I have the same issues with tying in cabinetry colours. Any help gratefull appreciated! ps, our builder let us leave this things until the roof is on when we need to notify the cabinet maker. Roof goes on by the end of next week!! help! I thought it was, but I can’t find it in my folder. Because your tile looks dark, I would go with the platinum micro for with benchtops and the white for the cupboards as a break in colour. It should look fresh. I like the stipple seal, so your kitchen sounds fine to me. Kids bathroom – do the stipple seal. I love it, very funky, whether it goes with your other choices...tis not for me to advise Re: Bench/door colours for laundry and kids bathroom 9Dec 01, 2008 2:52 pm Thanks SuH - are you using the fudge stream for both the bench and cupboards? I am concerned that I am using 2 "patterns" and perhaps should use a flat colour for the benchtop to go with fudge stream on the cupboard doors... Re: Bench/door colours for laundry and kids bathroom 10Dec 01, 2008 3:06 pm Hey Bec, I used in my last house the stipple seal and polar white for bathrooms and wet areas......if you use the dimension finish (which on the sample you will see 2 sides.....1 side is dimensions and the other side is the natural finish).
The dimension finish does not show any water marks....as in water has been left on the bench and dries and you see a mark that can be wiped clean but on the dimension finish you do not see these marks at all so if you don't get around to wiping benches before guests come over they will never know This is just FYI... and we used the platinum micro square form for our kitchen bench and polar white cupboards. This looked very fresh. I don't think its a dated look at all....but I'm being biased as I thought it looked good in my home. Then you can put any splashback colour in yur kitchen and it will be a nice highlight. PM me if you want me to show you some pics............I only have real estate pics as I never took photos of the house as we were building [/list] Re: Bench/door colours for laundry and kids bathroom 11Dec 01, 2008 3:18 pm Becster Thanks SuH - are you using the fudge stream for both the bench and cupboards? I am putting white stone on top in the ensuite....but in the powder room I am having a bench made, the lot will be fudge stream with a big triangular bowl on top. I mean it to a million and 1. I am sure he gets to the end of our questions and wishes he was invisible. Re: Bench/door colours for laundry and kids bathroom 16Dec 01, 2008 3:59 pm In Sydney? or on the forum?..........he would laugh at me (very hard) if I told him I was on a building forum.....He doesn't get it. He barely has time to talk to his own family let alone anyone else and it helps if you know how to turn on the computer....... Re: Bench/door colours for laundry and kids bathroom 17Dec 02, 2008 4:08 pm Thanks for your input guys.
Met the cabinet maker this morning and confirmed the colours etc - have been brave and chosen the fudge stream for the kids bathroom cupboards with the platinum micro for the bench top, and the laundry I am keeping polar white on the cupboards and platinum micro on the benchtop. Stipple seal and polar white in the kitchen with Purity essa stone for the benchtop. And for the ensuite essa stone purity benchtops and tawny linewood in the natural finish for the cupboard doors. And will post some photos of the build soon! Such a relief to have another aspect of the build locked away. Re: Bench/door colours for laundry and kids bathroom 18Dec 02, 2008 4:14 pm Congratulations Becster, Thats awesome all your colours sound really nce I will have to go and check out your fudge stream on the website, I am not familiar with this one.....but whenver you feel you are being brave it means soemthing very wow factor.....good on you for taking the plunge.........
My sentences sometimes don't make any sense but you get the general idea of what I am trying to say. Bathroom renovation will likely include a back-to-corner bath and we’re considering a freestanding tap with hand-held shower such as the picture included.
