Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 27, 2008 9:25 am I have brand new charcoal colour plush carpet in my lounge, black plasma and black lowline cabinet and an .....electric blue lounge! Yeah I know..lol. My walls are currently a wet cement/beige colour and in urgent need of something because of the darkness in this room now. What do you suggest (apart from getting rid of the lounge!) Off white paint?? Oh..the verticals are a pale grey colour also. We are by the way thinking of getting new lounge but not til middle next year, so your colour thoughts on that would be most appreciated also. The carpet meets white tiles in the dining/kitchen area. I love the carpet....but everything else seems odd now and the lounge stands out like dogs you know what! What colour accessories/cushions would you go for also? Im so colour challenged! Thanking you in advance.... Re: paint & accessories for charcoal carpet and blue lounge? 2Nov 27, 2008 11:46 am Well you have all those nice cool colours so I would think you may need a coolish off white. We are using 1/2 strength white duck, to me it looks like it has a grey (very very slight) as opposed to yellow, tinge to it. Michelle can sought me out if I'm wrong
Sigh! that's all the help I can give you melisa07, I wouldn't recommend anything I haven't seen myself. Re: paint & accessories for charcoal carpet and blue lounge? 3Nov 27, 2008 11:54 am I’ve got the A4 to the White Duck at home, is has a green tint in it.
Nice colour though. I’ll have a look later if I can for you. I usually like to balance out colours, where there is a lot of cool colours, you may need to introduce a warm colour. Michelle, I said I do numbers and only on the odd occassion, but much to my OH's disgust I have no idea about budgets. In fact he would probably die laughing if he heard someone ask me for advice on a budget Sorry again melisa07, I will leave this thread now and go and start a "Su's Nonsense" one Re: paint & accessories for charcoal carpet and blue lounge? 16Nov 27, 2008 6:54 pm melisa07….I would defiantly look at a neutral wall colour; hey your blue lounge could even look good with it!
Neutrals to look for are – Dulux 1)Hogs Bristle ¼ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 2)Dulux Buff It ¼ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Or something similar. Accessories/cushions and such, wait till you paint. You will get a feel for it then. Perhaps some nice orange cushions on the lounge, orange and blue are comp colours, so you can’t go wrong there.
