Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 13, 2008 4:21 pm Here is my colour board for the house! We haven't had selections yet... but as always I am prepared... nothing is coming over from the other house I never built. That is gone... all gone! This house has its own personality and is different!!
Here is what what I'm using and where, from left to right..... Feel free to comment!!! Suggest, abuse... Dark tile for floors throughout. (600mm x 300mm) Middle tile, feature for a full wall in each bathroom. White tile for remainder of wall tiling in bathrooms. Three samples on dark tile are for the kitchen: Parbury Madagascar for wall of cupboards. Parbury Pearl Mist for remainding cupboards. Caesarstone Osprey for benches. Other samples: Colourbond monument for windows. Caeserstone Raven for bathroom. Caeserstone Nova Aurora for ensuite. Pearl Silver for cupboards in both bathrooms. Small tile between stone samples will be feature above vanities and in bath niche (if I keep the niche ) And of course across the bottom is my beautiful Cavalier Bremworth 100% wool carpet! Bottom photo is just the bathrooms stuff. Shows the lovely shimmer of the Pearl Silver. However we did the same ... warning.. Grey is not easy to match . Why ... I have no idea ... but there are a lot of browns around . But we've matched everything...... only paint left. You're right it was a struggle to find carpet to match my tile.. then they deleted my tile but the new one is better. All the greys work really well together. Now they'll delete something and screw me up... I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I am well and truly over it. I have noticed there is quite a bit of grey creeping into displays.... but I am so over it as well Michelle. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. You don't think my selections are too trendy.. I live by the motto "I was never in fashion... therefor I am never out of fashion." I want my house to be the same... Good question! It belongs in that other house... with that other builder. That might not make sense to other people.... but it makes sense to me. And this house has a different feel and different personality. With the split kitchen set up, I think the orange would have lost it's impact. And in this layout the flloor to ceiling cupboards are the feature. Hence the use of Madagascar for those.... It’s had its day now, move on project builders. But I looooooove brown Beautiful carpet Jo -lovely pattern . I'll keep that one in mind when we get closer to that time. But maybe in a mushroom colour not brown Re: Jo really loves charcoal and grey! 17Nov 13, 2008 7:27 pm Southies the carpet is very similar to Petal's. It does come in a mushroom colour from memory. And quite a few browns.
It is gorgeous... I had it with me the other day when I was looking at tiles. The tile guy said "WOW what a beautiful quality carpet." I don't mind paying for quality and I love it, but it was nice for someone to really apprecate it. Especially a tile salesman! When the time comes I'll give you the details if you're interested. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Jo really loves charcoal and grey! 18Nov 13, 2008 7:32 pm Nice colors Jo...but it could really use some....
