Hi Bel....I'm not having the double roller blinds, if it was you could almost double the price. The bamboo range is a transcluent material meaning it lets light in but you cant see through if that makes sense. I cant find a picture but I will keep trying Privacy is not really a major issue so I dont mind the ground floor blinds being up during the day. To give you an indication, my friend got a quote for double blinds for a townhouse...15k Mrs B Re: Window furnishings...Quote 43Dec 13, 2008 8:09 am Hmm that is interesting then...that is the material which I was going to go with first off (where you can see out but people cant see in) but I was informed if you had a light on etc then people could see in so they were no good for privacy....
Will have to go in and check out the product soon My karma ran over your dogma Re: Window furnishings...Quote 44Dec 13, 2008 8:51 pm Incredible differences, aren't they??!!
We just had our blinds installed yesterday, and I'm absolutely thrilled with them! I put block out Romans in the bedrooms, lounge , study, upstairs games room and Home Theatre, dual rollers on the bi folds and sliding doors and rollers in what sounds very similar to your bamboo, Mrs B, in the pantry, on bi fold servery, French doors , upstairs games side and kids' study windows . The plantation shutters for ensuites, lounge/dining void, our BR hi-lite, gym and powder rm won't be in till late Jan, which is fine.....phew, that's a lot of blinds!!!! I was getting a little nervous about them , but I'm really, really happy! Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: Window furnishings...Quote 45Dec 13, 2008 8:54 pm Who did you get your blinds through Petal??
Im starting to think that the Luxaflex double roller blinds may be out of my budget - I only allowed $15k, and it seems it could be closer to $30k I will still get a quote but I am looking at other options too now My karma ran over your dogma Re: Window furnishings...Quote 46Dec 13, 2008 9:03 pm haywgl Who did you get your blinds through Petal?? Im starting to think that the Luxaflex double roller blinds may be out of my budget - I only allowed $15k, and it seems it could be closer to $30k I will still get a quote but I am looking at other options too now Hi bel It may be enough, dont forget it mostly relies on the material you select and not every window will need the double roller blind. I still think your budget of 15k will get you everything you need. Hi Petal I cannot wait to see your curtains I like the way you have a mixture of rollers and romans, thats what I am going to do. Would you be able to post any pictures I would love to see what you have selected. I bet they look fantastic! Mrs B Re: Window furnishings...Quote 47Dec 13, 2008 9:10 pm Thanks for the PM Petal I'm also waiting anxiously for pictures of your blinds
I think your right Mrs B, realistically I will probably only need the dual rollers on the bedrooms/front windows and possible the back sliding doors (still might get panel glides on these ) The windows to the side of the house don't need the privacy/blockout as no one can see in.... We just want plain white with possible a darker blockout colour...so hopefully not too expensive - I'm going to the Luxaflex guys near me on Monday so will see what they say My karma ran over your dogma Re: Window furnishings...Quote 48Dec 22, 2008 4:47 pm Hi Guys
here are the fabrics I have picked. Roller blind fabric from the Bamboo range (luxaflex) colour...natural. Has a really nice weave to it, very earthy and should look really nice with all my other colours. I love both and have picked the softer looking pattern (picture directly below) but I can still change my mind. So what does everybody else think...fabric 1 or 2 Both look beautiful with my tiles. Very happy with my blinds. Also...what do people think about reverse roll (roll of fabric is facing the outside) Fabric 1 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Fabric 2 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Mrs B ps...I have put more pictures on my blog Re: Window furnishings...Quote 49Dec 22, 2008 4:53 pm MrsB, both are nice, however the 2nd sample (paisley pattern) is so sheer that it shows the glass pane pattern from behind - this makes the fabric too busy ie detail of the paisely + the wave pattern of the glass. Do I make sense ?
The first floral sample is gorgeous. Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Window furnishings...Quote 50Dec 22, 2008 5:12 pm Hi Southies
yes you make perfect sense Mr B held it too close to the window and you can see everything behind it The first floral one is sitting on the architrave and I dont think it picked up any shadows from behind. Strangely enough, they dont do the bonded backing what you see in the picture is what you get. Mrs B Re: Window furnishings...Quote 51Dec 22, 2008 5:15 pm OK, I can see what you mean, now. Then either one is OK - guess it depends what you like most.
For my taste, the floral sample has a softer design. Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Window furnishings...Quote 52Dec 22, 2008 5:24 pm I like the floral as well. Michelle, you know you can be brutal with me If you think it is too see through then tell me. Southies made a good point about seeing all the shadows behind it. I am just being lazy if the truth be told I really can't be bothered in getting two small romans made from another curtain company where prehaps I could have the black out material bonded from behind. I really dont want to call another curtain person out to the house again...is this so wrong? Oh dear....I can feel procrastination settling in again Mrs B Re: Window furnishings...Quote 54Dec 22, 2008 5:39 pm Mrs B….are you sure this fabric doesn’t come backed?

But I prefer the first one as far as the pattern goes. But I'm not really a pattern person so I'm not sure. Sorry. But I love, love, love the Bamboo range blinds!
