She’s a bit over the colour now, but you get that when your house gets on in age. She’s a bit over the colour now, but you get that when your house gets on in age. Tell me more about them Michelle. From a decorators view, what are they like? Why is she over the colour...what did she pick? Update...I have just come back from my first curtain consultation. the girl told me she could only stay half an hour ....right....it takes me at least an hour to choose some underwear so how am I going to decide on window furnishings in 1/2 hour for a 49 sq home that has been my project for the last 2 years. The consultant was nice enough and to give credit the company did ring twice to tell me she was going to be late. When she got there i had to tell her what I wanted....i was really hoping she would also come up with some great ideas not really forth coming. Anyway, I have to send my plans off to her and she will quote it from that. Something is missing here Mrs B Re: Window furnishings...Quote 8Nov 19, 2008 2:19 pm Mrs B When she got there i had to tell her what I wanted....i was really hoping she would also come up with some great ideas not really forth coming. The person we chose to do our windows spent ages talking to us about each room; how it was going to be used, colour schemes, heat/cold. The final quote was a bit pricey but at least we felt like we had received a good service. I like the Duettes as well . Re: Window furnishings...Quote 9Nov 19, 2008 2:25 pm I really like them Mrs B, and they are still very popular.
They can pull up from the bottom, and down from the top. The main reason as you said, they fold away to nothing. My girlfriend has a very pale lemon on her windows, which she now wants white. But they are too expensive to change, her house is about 15 years old, and her taste changes every minute. We were only talking about it the other day! She will use the measurements off the plans per window! Very good, I always recommend this first! I dont mind the quoting of the plans....it makes sense but I expected a bit more customer service I suppose. I like these style of window furnishings as it allows me to add my drapes further down the track withour too much fuss. BTW...what do you think of the transclucent duettes...it allows light in but you cant see in or out. This is what I am getting quotes for...I dont like the full black out ones...not into dark rooms. Do you think White Duettes is the way to go for my house? So many questions just doing my homework before the next quote. Hi Dy My last curtain consultant was the same...hours spent with him. I really like what you are doing, the blinds and sheers I cant wait to see your photos. Mrs B Re: Window furnishings...Quote 11Nov 19, 2008 7:14 pm Yes the translucent’s are good, and if they serve your purpose then that’s the way to go. I agree though if you are planning on spending a fair amount of money with a company you expect a certain amount of service to go with it. It seems to be she was only interested in getting your plans to quote and having a quick check around the place. I would want someone to sit down and see if I am making the right choice with each area or could there be a different blind they could offer for different areas. Either way I hope its a good quote and hopefully the next person will be more impressive. You must be getting closer now. Re: Window furnishings...Quote 13Nov 19, 2008 9:45 pm The duettes are beautiful Mrs B. That is disappointing about hte customer service though Can you keep shopping around different blinds shops to get more quotes and maybe some more ideas, and then go back to her and say this is what I want, give me your best price? Hi Donuts I have the David Jones girl coming out next week. I am expecting excellent customer service and I do want ideas. I am also going to get a 3rd quote from a local company but I already know they will be too expensive. I am on a mission to find good customer service with a reasonable quote. I just wish 'my beautiful interior designer man' from Myers was still around that was 8 years ago and he has moved on to another company. Hi PK The David Jones girl is coming out next week...this last quote was from a different shop. Your right though, I did expect at least an hour consultation and advise. I know what I want, just need to talk about different options that I may not be aware of. As for getting closer....no not really I cant see the finish line. Day after day no one there or maybe just for a few hours. We are suppose to be moving in just before christmas but I think that is virtually impossible. Time will tell Mrs B Re: Window furnishings...Quote 16Nov 26, 2008 12:35 pm Update
Just come back from the house after meeting the Luxaflex consultant (not David Jones as I thought) First impressions...very down to earth, matter of fact and was willing to discuss my options for the window furnishings. She measured every window 25 in total I think and then spent some time with me discussing the products. I already knew I wanted the Transcluent duette shades and I picked the colour Linen (whitish) which really goes nice with the Antique White USA flow colour. For the smaller windows in the bathrooms, I wanted Romans with a nice soft print. She showed me the Silk Range fabric range and it was just beautiful. Not much to choose from but I already knew that. So, Tomorrow I am going to get the quote. With the 20% off, I just hope it is within budget. It is such a beautiful product and exactly what I wanted for my house. I really dont want to compromise on the window furnishings as they are going to be there for many years to come. She is putting them all inside the frame to allow drapes( in 3 rooms only) to be added down the track. I will keep everybody updated... Mrs B Re: Window furnishings...Quote 17Nov 26, 2008 12:49 pm Mrs B……Linen, perfect colour!!!
Well done! As for the silk range in Romans, YUMMY………………. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Window furnishings...Quote 18Nov 26, 2008 12:59 pm Michelle, the fabric I picked from the Silk range is called Elegance Gold. Just perfect for bathrooms...white back gound with a soft gold leaf pattern. Just to feel the fabric was enough to win me over. My other choice was from the natural fabric selection...bamboo-Olive
I forgot to mention is that the duettes will be the 20mm from the symphony range. Mrs B Re: Window furnishings...Quote 19Nov 26, 2008 1:47 pm Mrs B,
I love Luxaflex translucent duettes products - I have been contemplating using them for the 3 x stacker doors and probably try and get a cheaper products for the windows. If you can afford Luxaflex duettes for the whole house, it will look divine. Has your house been painted yet? I used Antique White USA in my entire interior and it has turned out quite nice. braveheart Re: Window furnishings...Quote 20Nov 26, 2008 3:09 pm braveheart Mrs B, I love Luxaflex translucent duettes products - I have been contemplating using them for the 3 x stacker doors and probably try and get a cheaper products for the windows. I love your house Braveheart and we also have the 3 stacker doors. I also contemplated getting cheaper roller blinds for other windows (which may be the case still ) but I dont really want to compromise on this particular item for the house. Last house we had, I went through the whole ceiling to floor drape thing with the sheer blinds etc and although it blew the budget, there was not a single day that went by without me admiring my window furnishings. So...I am going to wait for the quote then see what I can afford now and what will have to wait. My house was suppose to have been painted 2 weeks ago...yet another unfullfilled promise btw... has any body got a ball park figure for one window Mrs B hey there! 😊 so, it’s kinda common for standard drawer depths to be around 500mm since most cabinets use this size to fit the usual runners… 3 20920 I was being kind to the builder.
