Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 18, 2008 2:09 pm Hi, I'm a first time poster but regularly read this forum and love it! I am needing help though picking colours for my kitchen. We are going to have jarrah flooring and have selected 3 colours for our benchtops which I am hoping will look ok, they are roman marble and vulcan stone and grey marble, I am wondering if these would look ok with the flooring we have (or will they be too dark) and some suggestions for splashback colours and door colours. Hubby thought he had the hard part making and installing the kitchen, but this is doing my head in (I have twin bubs which isnt helping!) Any opinions would be be wonderful! I’m really busy at the moment; I’ll look later when I have some spare time. I need to know where the roman marble, vulcan stone and grey marble are going. Which parts of the cupboards and benchtop AND….who’s laminates are they? I have a few to look thru, if you can help by tying them down it saves my time. Thanks!! sorry I wasnt very clear, we have decided that we are going to go with Roman Marble laminate by Laminex for the benchtops and the island bar, so my main dilema now is the the colour of the cupboards and the splashback all tying in with the jarrah floors. I was thinking a very very pale grey for the cupboards but the splashback....no idea whether I should keep it a pale grey or go for something bolder ( also hubby is spraypainting all the cupboards etc himself as hes a cabinetmaker). I hope I am making sense here I am doing this with noooo sleep at all! Re: Please Help with Kitchen colours... 5Nov 20, 2008 5:29 pm Mercedes, I have the Roman Marble and the Vulcan Stone, but I don’t have and grey marble.
I like the Roman Marble; it teams up well with Laminex Pearl Grey, a soft grey. The Roman Marble is a stunning bench top, off the top of my head here, why don’t you just do the plain glass splash back, green tinge, and no colour. This way the Marble will be the show piece. With the amount charged for the upgrade the builder is probably charging closer to 100% margin. There are a few variables as I… 5 14299 You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn. The doors can’t open past 90 degrees and it’s difficult and maybe impossible to remove drawers 2 15573 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7136 |
