Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 17, 2008 6:26 pm OK, so we went to the cabinetmakers today to choose a benchtop colour and really loved the ice snow. We had to decide on colour of cupboards there and then and chose laminex polar white.
After coming away was unsure so now have until tomorrow morning to change our minds if we want something else. Can anyone give me some good advice on a good laminate colour (can be laminex, parbury etc) that will sit nicely with caesar stone's 'ice snow'? After talking to SuH we are leaning towards the java dusk splashback. Thanks (getting closer) Shel Re: Kitchen Colours Cont'd 2Nov 17, 2008 6:30 pm So what’s wrong with Polar White?
I think they go really well together. What do you think?
Shel Re: Kitchen Colours Cont'd 4Nov 17, 2008 7:16 pm I have no problem with the Flint Finish in Polar White.
Besides, you want your bench top to take to show not your cupboards. IMO Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Kitchen Colours Cont'd 5Nov 17, 2008 7:25 pm What people tend to forget is…..all the other things going on in a room.
Once your kitchen is in, and you are in, you will put things around the kitchen, making more pattern and colour by doing so. Then there’s whatever room there is off the kitchen adding yet more colour and pattern. The white is good it allows room for movement with all the other objects. It's not that bright a white. In fact I didn't even realise it was it until I asked the builders who also happen to be our builders, what colour it was.
We are the first renters for this house , built last year. so the information was still on file. Rather handy as we had an idea of some of the standard finishes and standard of finish available through our builder. Re: Kitchen Colours Cont'd 7Nov 17, 2008 7:39 pm Thank you, Michelle, you hit the nail on the head.
I just realised this today as I thought I might like the linen caesar stone - but as nice as it is, I soon realised that it would limit what I put in the rest of the kitchen and also, say, 10 years down the track when I might like to change direction in colour altogether. Having the white will be like having a base template and changing that around it. Thank you for that - it has made me feel a bit better about my decision. (I went into second guessing world this afternoon - which I hope is kind of normal) - don't think my cabinet maker was liking my indecisive moment though! ha ha Keep em' on their toes I say!!! Shel Re: Kitchen Colours Cont'd 8Nov 17, 2008 7:48 pm Don’t worry about the kitchen guy…..he’s used it!!!
By the way, second guessing your selections is very normal, just keep a picture in your head of what you want and don’t waver from that. I will have to get you a photo of daughter's kitchen, but not by tomorrow morning. What you have chosen you will love, I reckon anyway, Java Dusk is dreamy Re: Kitchen Colours Cont'd 10Nov 17, 2008 10:13 pm Thank you SuH for telling me abt that splashback - I like it and more importantly so does the hubby! ha ha I can't wait to see the pictures. Thank you
Shel I have just made all final decisions tonight (with alot of help from homeone ) Re: Kitchen Colours Cont'd 13Nov 18, 2008 12:04 pm SuH Very nice, it even looks better with white. They aren't Ferric Sheen cupboards per chance Mrs B Hi SuH No idea, just found the colour on a glass site I was curious what it looked like in a kitchen. I would prefer white cupboards with it though. Mrs B Hey. Head to a metal and decide on which profile you will use first. Profiles with larger corrugations can greatly change the appearance of the color in different… 0 3384 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34269 |
