Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 15, 2008 9:41 pm Hello, Michelle, we have found that budget wise we have to make a choice between caesar tops and laminate cupboards or the alternative of 2pac cupboards and laminate tops. What would you recommend?
....and if we went for caesar what laminate colour/type could we use that would give that nice glossy white look of the 2pac. ie how do you think we could pull off the best possible look by either first or second option? Thanks kindly Shel Re: Caesarstone tops and laminate cupb vs 2pac cupb and lam tops 2Nov 16, 2008 7:09 am I'm not Michelle - but personally I'd go for c/stone tops and laminate benchtops - that's what we are doing (Osprey top and Licorice Linea cupboards)
The glossy 2pac seems to be going out of fashion with the satin finish more popular. We've had 2 homes with glossy cupboards - they show every splash of water and finger mark! I was continuously wiping them down with windex or cloudy ammonia to get them shiny again. After 4 years - we're in! Re: Caesarstone tops and laminate cupb vs 2pac cupb and lam tops 4Nov 16, 2008 8:24 am Thank you, Stonecutter. Am glad for that information on the 2pac as I have a two year old boy so that is good to take into consideration. Stonecutter, you don't have a picture of your kitchen posted by chance??
Yes, I think we will definitely go for the caesar tops and laminate cupboards instead. I have attached a photo of our kitchen plan. We are having a BORAL blackbutt floor (of which I cannot find a picture to show you). We are also having glass splashback. Can anyone show me/tell me some laminate/caesar/glass splashback combinations that would look good with a timber floor and I will Love You!!! ha ha Am open to suggestion as, wouldn't you know it, we have to let the cabinet maker know by tomorrow so he can get us finished by Christmas. (This is a big question I know, sorry my brain is at the 'fried' stage' where you think about it all the time but get nowhere). Can't wait for Christmas! I have no problem suggesting Laminate to people. As for the tops, I’ll be getting a stone top, with Laminate cupboards. Here you go! Not a hundred percent sure if the cupboards are Laminate, but it will look the same. Have a look through and see if it was mentioned, otherwise, sit back and wait, someone will come along and tell you very soon! I tend to forget, as I do so much I can’t remember everyone’s work. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=9223 Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Caesarstone tops and laminate cupb vs 2pac cupb and lam tops 9Nov 16, 2008 8:58 am joles Sorry to butt in.... The benchtops are quantum quartz pebble cove. Yep I knew someone wouldn’t be too far away with the answer!!! Thanks Jo! I wanted something without many "chunks" because the cupboards are the feature. Without the cupboards I'd have gone something with a bit more zing. Yep that's what I was meaning by a bit chunkier!!!
Someone asked donuts and I if we were sisters the other day!!!! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Caesarstone tops and laminate cupb vs 2pac cupb and lam tops 16Nov 16, 2008 9:44 am Does anyone know the name of the colour splashback I also like, which looks like a light mocha colour - have seen it around a bit, just don't know the colour?
Shel Re: Caesarstone tops and laminate cupb vs 2pac cupb and lam tops 17Nov 16, 2008 9:47 am It could be anything! If you get starfire (perfectly clear) glass, you can put any paint colour on it.
The glass only comes in two types, clear (green tinge to the glass) and starfire (completely clear with no tinge). All the colours are just paint colours. So you can have anything!!! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Caesarstone tops and laminate cupb vs 2pac cupb and lam tops 19Nov 16, 2008 10:23 am From memory when we were with M3tricon it was $450 to upgrade the whole kitchen.
If you want a light colour definitely go for starfire, the green tinged glass will change the colour. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself.
