Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 31, 2008 5:27 pm Okay, so as you know, we (I) totally stuffed up our render colour and it looks crap, I have to put in an application to our estate to change the colour asap so I must decide, this is our house
http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff228/sharee79/Picture010.jpg I was thinking maybe the colour of VJs cladding below might work?? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: What do you think?? 3Oct 31, 2008 6:50 pm what colour is the roller door ?? jasper??
What about Dulux stone? Re: What do you think?? 5Oct 31, 2008 6:59 pm gosh it looks like jasper on my screen.
Dulux stone would work with both I think. Also try d/s Dune. Re: What do you think?? 6Oct 31, 2008 7:39 pm Alright so I have narrowed it down to two options changing the render to the same colour as VJs, the problem with this is that I think we will need to paint the infill above the garage which has been painted woodland grey, and I'm not sure how much of a stuff around that would be
Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The other option I am thinking of is a two tone grey, leaving the infill above the garage the same as the woodland grey. The problem with this is the windows are paperbark and I'm not sure how it would look Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Pleeease someone just tell me what to do!! Re: What do you think?? 7Oct 31, 2008 7:45 pm What about Paperbark for the wall and the pillars? I think the paperbark is the best colour with your frames..... Re: What do you think?? 9Oct 31, 2008 7:49 pm My thought is that if you go too grey... the paperbark windows will stand out too much. Like PK I'd be trying to use Paperbark somewhere else....
What about Paperbark on the pillars... and like a half strength Woodland Grey (does that make sense ) on the wall around the window. You've got Paperbark and Woodland Grey already... and they contrast.... so I'd try to work with that without introducing too much else... Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: What do you think?? 10Oct 31, 2008 7:53 pm Alright here's a left field suggestion........
The Paperbark windows are what is taking your options away and stopping you from using the exact colour you want for the render. How about getting just those front windows powdercoated in Woodland Grey?..... Then you can do ANYTHING with the render as Woodland Grey will be the only colour there. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: What do you think?? 11Oct 31, 2008 7:53 pm Sharee If I do paperbark do you think i should paint the infill over the garage paperbark as well? I would keep the infill the same as your garage door so it just looks like your garage door is bigger. Don't make a feature of it. I think anyway... Re: What do you think?? 12Oct 31, 2008 7:57 pm Half strength paperbark on the walls, full strength (or Woodland Grey?) on the pillars?
We used Wattyl Turkish Bread in our house which is very close to Paperbark. Half strength on the front render goes quite well with the Merino/Paperbark windows. Re: What do you think?? 15Oct 31, 2008 8:02 pm donuts Sharee is the first pic you've put up the same as VJ's colour? Looks lighter? Poor DS, gets his head chopped off this time I didn't know the values of VJ's colour Donots so I just tried to match it by eye I am soooo confused. What is powder coating the windows Jo? (not being a bimbo I honestly have never heard of it?) Re: What do you think?? 16Oct 31, 2008 8:07 pm Sharee donuts Sharee is the first pic you've put up the same as VJ's colour? Looks lighter? Sharee that's just the colour... they can just be resprayed Woodland Grey.... then you could pick a render colour you really love.... without trying to fit in with the Paperbark. I can get a cost after the long weekend... my brother is something to do with windows on construction sites. Or something... but he will know about the powdercoating. I think that is part of the reason you've had trouble.. trying to match the Paperbark and the Woodland Grey.... I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I'll mention it and he'll probably have a rough idea, if not he can find more out at work on Wednesday.
I'm assuming they're not expecting any type of decision until after the weekend? I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick No. It's not original.
