Some tips of removing old wallpaper. I have recently came across an old wallpaper from 80's in some of my client/friend house. He had all the equipment ready ie steamer, steel scrapers etc and of course some wine anticipating that we will spend all night removing it. I showed him an old european way of removing those nasty old papers. First of all wallpaper is sticking to the wall thanks to glue. All the glue is made from glue powder and water. So what if you deliver more water to the glue. It will dissolved it. Old paper is made from paper base and vinyl( vinyl should come off very easly). Peel the vinyl of the wall and let the paper stay behind. Then take one of home sprays any empty clean bottle, fill it with water and spray/soak the paper with water, let the glue dissolve(30sec). paper will come off very easly once the glue will loose its strength. Worked magic for us. To do whole room took us 30 mins. No dramas at all. These days you dont have that problem with wallpaper as it is non-woven and paper is not involved in production. Very easy to remove and very easy to hang. For more information on wallpaper and related products feel free to call us 02 9310 2300 or visit our website www.eurowalls.com.au.
