Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Sep 17, 2009 10:54 pm Does anybody out there know what white interior colour schemes can be matched with White Birch coloured windows. The house is up and I am now having major regrets about the choice of window colour as it looks a lot more yellow than I thought it would. I was looking at Berkshire white or Hog Bristle 1/4 for the interior walls. I want a scheme that looks fresh and sophisticated and fits with our country views. Please help. I am not sure if I am participating in this forum properly as I have left a couple of posts with no replies. Very Sad. Re: Somebody please help. White Birch Window crisis. 2Sep 17, 2009 10:57 pm Hi Emac. Maybe try posting this question for Michelle in her interior decorating thread. She is a wonder when it comes to colour assistance. Good luck. Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Somebody please help. White Birch Window crisis. 3Sep 17, 2009 11:00 pm Hi Emac, In our last house in Melbourne, we had White Birch windows with Hog Bristle 1/4 on the walls and Fair Bianca on the woodwork. It was recommended by a colour consultant over there. I loved it myself. Here is a photo, bit hard to tell I know, but hope it helps: MagicJ I finally have my own reno thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28335 The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue! White Birch Window crisis. 6Sep 17, 2009 11:27 pm Thank you so much Magic J. Your reply and picture has just helped me so much. I hadn't considered fair bianca at all for the woodwork but it does draw together the window frames and walls very nicely. What colour did you do the ceiling? Also did the consultant have any other suggestions that you can remember? thanks again. Re: Somebody please help. White Birch Window crisis. 8Sep 18, 2009 8:00 am Emac Thank you so much Magic J. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Sorry your previous queries didn't get answered, I didn't see them !!! I was so bad with colour back then that basically I gave the colour consultant free rein and that was what she came up with - I loved it immediately, so didn't come up with any other alternatives (apart from a few feature walls), sorry . I'm not that much better with colour now, to be honest (I just know what I like and what I don't) but as Kyton has said, Michelle on here is a complete whiz with colour, she has helped me SO much!!! I'm betting she would have some other helpful suggestions if you posted on her forum. The ceiling was basic ceiling white, largely because DH doesn't like anything else up there!! Hi Jesstibb, yep it was solid timber flooring, we got it from a place in Murrumbeena in Melbourne. We absolutely adored it. That photo was taken 2 years after installation, with 2 small kids messing about on it all that time and it still had that gorgeous shine - really low maintenance too. We wanted it again in our current reno, but couldn't decipher the timber type on our receipt (we THINK it was kauri). It's really hard to get imported timber down here in Tassie anyway (most timber floors are Tas Oak or Tas Oak ), so this time we are having solid Blackwood - hope it turns out as nice as my old floor!!! White Birch Window crisis. 9Sep 18, 2009 11:14 am Hi Magic J, After your colour suggestions I did some research into "fair bianca". There seemed to be lots of people warning that is comes out very yellow. Were the trims in your house full or 1/2 strength? Did you think it turned out quite yellow? Sorry about all the fussy questions but I am trying to turn off the yellow in the windows so to speak. The picture of your house in Melbourne is beautiful so I am of course quite convinced by that. My builder's colour consultant told me to do hog bristle quarter on everything, walls, trims and ceiling. I think that would all be too flat and not the fresh look I want.
