Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 17, 2008 8:18 am Hi all,
I have my eye on a particular corner with chaise lounge, and it only comes in a white/cream, black or chocolate brown. Our dining suite and tv cabinet are both a chocolate (Dad will kill me, he's a french polisher and it's not chocolate!! It's walnut I think!) colour. We need to buy a new coffee table yet. Walls are Dulux White on White and I am going to paint a turquoisey colour feature wall to tie in with the pool area and hang a painting with a dark brown in it. Also putting in Kempas timber flooring. Kitchen all white. Do you think a chocolate coloured lounge is too much of that colour? I quite like the white/cream colour, but DH thinks it will get too dirty. Any comments on cleaning leather couches (it's not an expensive lounge, so prob not the best quality leather around)? Thanks so much!! I am hoping to order it today. Re: Lounge colour and cleaning 2Oct 17, 2008 9:43 am I love the sound of your colour scheme, sounds like what I am aiming for.
I also need a new lounge and had the same questions. I'm leaning towards brown (as it wont show marks up as easy) but will be adding lots of white cushions and a throw which I'm hoping will tone down the brown a little. Looking forward to hearing what others think Re: Lounge colour and cleaning 3Oct 17, 2008 9:44 am I would do the black leather.....if its not a pricey leather at least this way it will always look classy and its harder to tell the difference in the leathers in black and you can add nice white and turquoise cushions or turquoise and chocolate throw rug..........but the brown would have to be a specific brown to go with the rest of your furniture and the white is good if you don't plan on sitting on it. I am kidding.....I think white is a dangerous colour for furniture unless you have no pets and no kids and no friends kids...........So saying that if you don't have to worry about those things I would go the white.
I am no help am I........Sorry. Re: Lounge colour and cleaning 4Oct 17, 2008 10:32 am if the brown is the right colour brown then i would go for that...and use light coloured cushions, at least with cushion covers you can throw them in the wash.
are they your dogs? if so, no to white especially if it is not good quality leather.
