Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 06, 2008 3:01 pm Hi, i've been terribly caught up in renovating our kitchen and have been absent from here for ages!!!
Basically i need advice on a flow colour throughout our house. At the moment it is untinted white, on walls, ceiling and all framing inc windows, skirting and architraves...so basically white base colour. I have a little person who likes to make prints on my wall andafter kncoking down a few walls to make lounge/kitchen/dining open plan, we are also in the middle of installing new cupboards in the kitchen that are antique white and i don't like how it looks with the untinted "brilliant" white. The loungeroom has a feature wall - nick's nook which we are keeping. The kitchen cupboards are antique white. The benchtop we are looking at is polytech's napier sand. The floor throughout will be formica's natural oak laminate floating floor boards. Appliances are stainless and we're not sure what colour tiles to get as splash back yet. So i know that hog bristle is all the rage but not sure how it'll go with antique white. I also liked the look (in a colour brochure) of light glaze and light rice but again.... would these colours be too dark on the walls and would either complement the antique white cupboards? we have a small 1960s cottage, the hallway is dark, the lighting in the lounge is not too bad, there are 2 huge windows in the dining area so natural light is great, and the kitchen has a small window and light from the dining and lounge areas. I need a fresh, natural colour that is not yellowy cream or beige and probably not white due to little people's hands. So after all that ( ) what do you recommend?
