Im sure there is a scientific answer to this and one of you smart cookies might know or even just be able to tell me your observations. Eg. I see photos of Antique White USA ranging everywhere from bright cool white all the way through to warm almost yellowey fawn coloured. The rooms I am looking at painting are all southerly facing so the only direct light is artificial. Will the colour look darker or lighter in a room like this? In my last house the northern sun light 'warmed' (more yellow) the colour but it was lighter. If you have no direct daylight the colour will definitely be darker, as sunlight is way brighter than any artificial light. If it's white you're after stay away from dark whites like China White. I know what you mean about Antique White USA. It's a warm white & can look quite creamy in low light. Edit: Just came back to suggest that you look at Dulux Berkshire White, which is slightly warm & looks quite neutral in southerly light (as opposed to northern light, which makes it look too yellow sometimes).
