Re: Food, glorious FOOD - What's YOUR signature dish at part 62Oct 23, 2010 8:49 am Just found my choc-mint cheesecake recipe online: http://www.bestrecipes.com.au/recipe/After-Dinner-Mint-Cheesecake-L3308.html It's a bit rude of the contributor not to give credit to the source - an old Womens' Weekly cookbook from the early 80s. Best Ever Recipes, I think? It's divine. Haven't made it for years, but I used to make a double quantity in a larger flan tin for parties and there were never any leftovers. The pan should be a shallow loose-bottomed flan tin, the small size - about 20-25cm in diameter. You could make it in a traditional springform pan, but it won't come very far up the sides. That's OK, you won't want a huge serve; it's very rich. This isn't it, but it should end up looking something like it: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Food, glorious FOOD - What's YOUR signature dish at part 63Oct 23, 2010 8:55 am not another one!!! Do knife test in the middle of pudding. or bake at 180degrees until cooked (about 30 mins) in the oven if you like kids love it, it feeds 8-10 though, so good for a function or our family for dinner. so far have cooked it twice in 2 weeks, and I can see it being a favourite. Have you got anymore delicious slow cooker recipes??!! I got a slowcook cook book free via flybuys. It is this one https://www.flybuys.co.nz/GetRewards/pa ... OutletID=0 it is a nz book. it is SOOOO good. I made porridge for kids overnight in it. I am making stock now (takes 7 hrs) and will then use that in casseroles and soups..big batch and freeze as got 2 carcasses..chooks, for $2.30 and some cheap veg. I have not made stock since collage cos of all the boiling and crap but this just sits and cooks and no smell as the lid seals shut etc the book has desserts, breads, meat, potatoes (you know those dauphinoise ones...layers of pots and milk...you can do it in the crocky!!) soup etc in it and so will be going through it and trying each one. as no browning,(unlike alison grofton and that other nz bird... who brown everything) all thrown in and cooked,. even meatballs and bolognaise and on hot days it can cook in the laundry..or in the garage where the flies can be instead of in the house! it is only 5 cents on low for 8 hrs in electricity anyway..so handy to do a desert in there and a roast in oven go to the library and get some slow cook books out and the best ones, buy. I think they will be a good investment. I will be making rice in it for tea tonight (I have a rice cooker, but hey, mixing it up! takes an hour for 1 cup, 1 hr 15 mins for 2 cups) I am happy to share any that you might like though. soooo many, so excited! Re: Food, glorious FOOD - What's YOUR signature dish at part 74Oct 28, 2010 8:27 am Hi Kiwi, thanks for the tips! I really do need to start using the slow cooker more. Good idea about cooking in the summertime- how much easier is that- and like you said, put it in the laundry out of the way I usually jump on taste.com.au and print off the recipes I need- I have started a scrapbook with my faves! I just haven't really looked for any slow cooker recipes yet. Otherwise like you suggested, I might head down to the library. Oh and pebbles, Kiwi is right, you can NEVER have too much chocolate pudding!!
