Made with love, I bet it tasted spectacular. As for that puppy in the cake mix I like other people's puppies.... and far away from the kitchen, a bit like some people feel about kids. I'm sure I have dog hair on my tongue now (gag gag gag). Re: For all those who like cupcakes 163Sep 21, 2009 8:53 pm Now I'm inspired! We're having an afternoon tea party for my Mum's 70th next month, and I have a legitimate excuse to go buy that cupcake book I've been drooling over at the bookshop... Perhaps not a stripper cake though - don't want any of the oldies to have a heart attack. Whatever I do, it'll have to be good, Mum's a retired chef.... Suggestions, please!! Re: For all those who like cupcakes 164Sep 21, 2009 9:18 pm That is soooooooooooooooooooo cute!! I lvoe the pic with the flour on its bum from where it's been sitting and then with cake mix on the head and the 1 paw in the bowl - love em all 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' My fave afternoon tea cake is in there, always a hit at family gatherings. It's called Angie's lemon cake. It is so easy, but always impresses. Has a syrup, so it's moist, but the syrup forms this light sugary crust on the cake..... really divine. Let me know if you'd like the recipe. buzz Re: For all those who like cupcakes 166Sep 22, 2009 2:53 pm buzz kek, do you have "The Cook's Companion"- Stephanie Alexander? It's my Bible for many things, including the world's best lemon tart. Damn! Now I've let out my secret.... I'm thinking Black Forest cupcakes too. I do a mean BF cake, but I've never tried it as cupcakes - could be fun! Re: For all those who like cupcakes 167Sep 22, 2009 8:36 pm Yum kek... I love black forest cake, an oldie but a goodie! Try that lemon cake, it doesn't sound that good, but OMG it is fabulous. I make it in a baba mould. Sometimes I chop pistachios and sprinkle on top of the cake, or chopped mint, also lime instead of lemon...... my mouth is watering now thinking of black forest and lemon cakes. My sister also makes cute little merangues (sp?) and puts a dob of cream and fresh raspberries on them. Or merangue kisses, made with some ground hazelnuts in the mixture. Gee I love a good afternoon tea.... good tea and coffee, in nice cups with saucers, little sandwiches and cakes and conversation. One of lifes little pleasures buzz PS I'm going to try making the lemon tart this weekend, thanks for the tip Re: For all those who like cupcakes 169Sep 22, 2009 10:37 pm SuH, WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN HERE????
