Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Jan 14, 2020 12:14 pm Hi All, Doing a complete renovation at the moment with new kitchen/lights/bath/laundry involved. We are in the process of opening up the room to move the kitchen into a new area. Original plans was just to go over tiling with some sort of hybrid SPC flooring. However since we are moving into an area that was previously carpeted - we will need to make up the difference in height - or live with a step. My other option is to just remove all tiles and start from scratch... whats your thoughts? Sometimes taking the easy way and going over the top of tiles plus using levelling compound has come back to bite someone eventually as previous owners have covered up problems. I know this will be a pain plus more cost as old flooring need to come off? but probably a better way of doing Re: Hybrid over tiles or not? 6Jun 03, 2020 11:22 am kitchen area with a step is not a good idea, don't bother it takes long to get done, cuz you'll live with it longer, make things better than you need, it worth as you'll find out micwallpaper.com.au Picture your wall to a view 1 15759 ShaneG We have been doing heaps of hybrid floors lately. The hollowness is caused by low spots in the slab or subfloor. No slab or particleboard floor is going to be… 1 10408 We are doing heaps of hybrid at the moment and the cost sits between $60-65/sqm including installation. Stairs are around $90-100 each 1 4312 |
