Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Jun 03, 2019 5:51 pm So, we're thinking of knocking down the walls between our kitchen and 3rd bedroom. The 3rd bedroom would become a dining room and we'd also open up the new dining room to what would be our newly extended living room. So in essence we'd have an open area with 3 different ceilings and no walls in between. Here's the challenge. The kitchen and dining areas have period cornices and ceilings which we'd like to keep. They are art deco and in great condition. It would be a shame to remove these. Does anyone have experience or examples of having opened up similar spaces whilst maintaining the period ceilings? How does it look? Any thoughts or opinions on how to do it so it looks right?
