Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Apr 25, 2019 5:16 am We love everything about our house with the exception of the cladding. It was built 20 years ago and is clad in colour bond steel. To my eyes it makes it look like a shed. The colour has gone in parts and it looks old and shabby, The steel is attached to the metal frame with visible hex screws and is easy to remove. I have removed several sheets from the lower level. I have seen many houses that use multiple cladding types on the one building and I would like to remove the steel cladding on one side of the house and replace it with hardie board matrix panneling (https://www.scyon.com.au/products/matrix-cladding/). Later I would do the same with the other three sides. The materials are relatively cheap. What I am trying to gauge is how big a job this would be labour wise. It seems to be that it would be a couple of days work at most for two people. Does anyone have an idea about this? What it would be likely to cost excluding materials? The area to reclad would be roughly 60m2. Cheers Standard uninsulated double brick has an R value of around 0.7. An insulated standard 90mm stud timber frame can have an R value of around 2.7.
