Have a floor levelling issue that I’d like help in resolving.
I have engaged a flooring company to lay down some floating hybrid floors but before I do that I would like the main area to be as level as possible.
At present it is uneven, mainly due to slight sagging of floors (old house) and an old extension that was done about an inch higher than the rest of the house.
So I’m needing a solution that will help address this problem.
Some solutions that I’ve heard are liquid cement, cement sheets or some sort of tongue or underlay. These solutions have been offered by other trades people currently working on my property, but they didn’t seem convinced as it wasn’t their area of expertise. I’m hoping someone here has gone through something similar and willing to share some ideas with me.
What I don’t want to do is restump the place. This isn’t an option as it’s well outside my budget and well beyond the scope of this job.
The problem in the floor level arose when the extension was done (red dotted line in attached images). Above the red dotted line is the level that the new floor level needs to be at.
The problem areas, as per the photos, are points C and D.
Any constructive ideas on this would be appreciated. Thanks for reading.
