Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Feb 20, 2019 7:25 pm Apologies, I have no idea where to post this question, where to start, or where to look if anyone asked before. We are looking to add a gas fireplace and framed “chimney breast” into the formal lounge of a typical 10yo project home. Fireplace will be on an external wall (brick veneer). Looking at Jetmaster heat&glo 5x, for a more traditional look I suppose. Question is how wide to build the new chimney breast? Internal wall its going on is only 4.5m wide, so we’ll end up with alcoves each side. Thinking to split into thirds, so 1.5m alcove, 1.5m “built out” chimney breast, then 1.5m alcove the other side. Looking for ideas, pix etc. Hi all, My first post, we are building a house and can’t decide the layout of the lounge room. We have a large N/W facing window and are wanting to have a wood slow… 0 13831 No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 11680 I would probably render it and then paint it as per your other advice, or gyrpock over the top. 1 3405 |
