Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Nov 27, 2018 11:16 pm Hi, I’m new to this site and thought I’d ask for some advice. We are building on to our current 1980 s brick home. It’s long ways on the block, similar I guess to a homestead style. Extension will include a new master, lounge, dinning and kitchen space. Reno will also include new laundry refit, study and ensuite in existing home. New roof, new windows. Because we are starting from scratch with exterior colors I’m lost! The house will be fully rendered, as we can’t match old bricks. I was thinking wallaby roof and dune render with ultra silver windows.....but after advice. And if I do that, what do I do for gutters, facial and eaves? Front door is metal / glass . Any advice or photos would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Re: Goodbye 80s house... hello fresh, modern home 2Nov 28, 2018 7:40 am If your council allows it, a light covered roof will aid in keeping your home cool.
