lonelydove IMO it is of little concern if you lower or raise the ground level as you will need to address Geo/Soil, retaining and stormwater disposal, it is of concern if your designer or builder leaves you in worse position than when you started, after the build...? BTW Photos do help

Have you paid a fixed price for the slab? Keep an eye on the reinforcing, make sure it is per the drawings and has cover from the sides and bottom of the trenches.
