We are doing some renovations on first floor (adding a couple of bedrooms) and wanted to see if it is a common practice for builders NOT to do the OC. The builder insists this should be done by the owner.
I wanted to understand what the industry norm is here. For my own protection I would prefer to hold off making the last progress payment until I get an OC. Naturally builder is reluctant.
Secondly anyone knows whats realistic penalty for late compleiton of the project. Again something which builders would push back on big time, but whnted to know the norm.
