Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Aug 09, 2017 7:41 pm My brick veneer home is built on on stumps and on a slight slope. I am planning a small extension (ensuite and WIR - about 10 sq m) on the high side of the building. It will be flat roofed, sitting under the eaves of the exisiting house. However, a previous owner leveled and paved the area so that the top of the paving is close to to the floor level of the house. If I lay a slab at the same level it will not have the required 150mm clearance above the remaining paving. Can I install a linear drain around the perimeter of the slab set to meet the 150mm clearance? On two sides of the slab I can excavate the paving and soil to provide the clearance, but how far from the slab would that need to extend? One side of the slab will be close to the boundary with only sufficient room to install a 100mm wide drain. The nearest existing down-pipe and collection point is on the other side of the house. I believe it would be possible to run a pipe under the house to join it. However, as an option, and given the relatively small roof area involved, could I run it to a sump set in the garden away from the house?
