I have never owned a house before so I am not familiar with council regulation etc. So this may sound a bit silly.
Alright. Can we actually build a simple deck/patio at the front of your deck? Possibly not but I think I have seen 1 or 2 houses that has pool in front of their house, only downside is privacy. You may not want others to see you swimming or throwing litters into the pool.
As far as I have read, the rules are whatever you do, there is a standard 6M setback for all houses in Brisbane. That is, no structures are allowed to be built within that area.
This is a photo taken from google maps.
Is there a possibly for me to build a deck or patio on the 2 highlighted area, assuming that the council has given me some relaxation on setback?

If the Council has given you the all clear to build your deck/patio with reduced setbacks, all you need is a building approval from a private building certifier to allow your builder to start building.
