Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Mar 04, 2017 8:40 am I'm having a hard time getting someone to do, actually just quote, some work in my bathroom for me. Due to a leak in the roof, the section of wall above the door has become moldy and sonhas the bottom of one side of the architrave. Part of my problem is that no two people have the same opinion of whats going on. Opinions range from simply patching and painting, to replacing not only the section of gyprock and architrave, but door frame and possibly wall as well. I'm not sure what to do. So far no one I have got over fills me with confidence that they know what they are doing (and after some rigmarole with painters, I am trusting my gut from now on when it comes to tradies). I've contemplated smashing the section of wall out and sussing out if there is any mold in the wall myself, but I have no idea what I am doing. It would remove a level of question from the people here to quote though. Re: Mold in wall and door architrave 2Mar 04, 2017 9:30 am Trust your gut, if they have to do some repairs in that a anyway, then they can fix whatever you remove to satisfy your own interests.
