Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Jan 10, 2017 1:45 am I have spray painted the kitchen cupboards last weekend, but I underestimated the power of spray paint and only covered half of the kitchen floor with dropsheets, now the other half of the kitchen floor is stained with spray paint residues and it looks bad! I heard mineral spirits or a stain remover called Goof Off can do the tricks, anyone has experienced with them or have better recommendations for a solution to remove the spray paint off the floor? Thanks! Re: How to remove spray paint from floor 2Jan 10, 2017 7:34 am It really depends on the type of kitchen floor and the paint. For instance with a tiled floor and anoiled based paint I would probably try a heat gun ans a hard plastic scraper. Whatever you try you should experiment in a small area where you won't see any damage, fr instance under the fridge. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Re: How to remove spray paint from floor 4Jan 26, 2017 2:51 pm Paint thinner is generally a sure win when it comes to removing paint, but like some of the other guys here have said, it depends on what paint you've been using. And again, try whatever solvent you've got on a small portion in a corner somewhere just in case you end up smearing the paint all over the place. Keep us updated on how things go though! Word to the wise - be prepared to use a lot of elbow grease while you're at it! Re: How to remove spray paint from floor 5Mar 17, 2017 4:06 pm Agree with Cameron. Paint thinner would be the best solution to remove paint. We needed spray painting for our home improvement and it was scheduled next week with http://www.easternbeachespainting.com.au/ They just called me saying they can do the job though they are from Sydney. You can check them for house painting and decorating needs.
