Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Nov 21, 2016 11:39 am Hi all, I have just finished my awning and had my final inspection, my council is Wollondilly Shire. The council inspector informs me that council has stuffed up and did not tell me i needed a midway inspection. The approval paperwork only mentions an inspection of piers and at completion. He informs me the process now is i have to remove the gyproc, the house eve, tiles and everything else, then pay for an engineer to come out and look. This is going to cost thousands for the rework and god knows what an engineer will cost, also if there is any issues (which i dont believe there will be) is will cost us a lot more to fix then if they were found midway. So angry right now, we did all the right things and got approval (which cost $1500 for the DA, dont start me on that) and they just screw us. Should of just built the thing without telling council. Has anyone had this happen to them, any advise? Re: Council Inspections 2Nov 21, 2016 5:38 pm I would be speaking with your local councillor. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get !
