I’m planning to renovate my home. We have a small kitchen, so planning to extend that and include an extra room. We have a lot of space in the backyard, so thinking of making a small play area for the kids, and an area to grow veggies. I did a rough calculation of the expenses, and it is coming up to a huge amount. I don’t have so much savings, so have to find other ways. The house was last renovated 8 years ago, and it’s high time we did the renovations, because now the kids are growing up, and there isn’t enough space at present, so cannot delay it any longer. So, I was just thinking of other ways to arrange the funds, and my friend suggested that I take mortgage for the purpose. But, I have never heard traditional banks offering loans for renovating home. I checked online and found this, http://www.nbmortgageteam.com/mortgage- ... mortgages/, private mortgage is a good idea I feel. But, I wanted to know, will I get a private loans for renovating my home? Under what scheme can I apply ? Do private mortgages have high interest rates? Please help me with your advices and suggestions. Thanks!!
