Browse Forums Renovation + Home Improvement 1 Aug 01, 2016 7:38 am I am looking to extend 200 x 50 hardwood floor joists, they span 3.6 meters at 450mm centres. I want to extend them to cantilever 1.2 meters past the existing wall. What length of overlap do I require, and method of fixing, if I am using the same material to extend the joists. Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks Re: Extending Floor Joists 2Aug 01, 2016 10:07 am Hi L300 Welcome to the forum Things that need further consideration 1.
