If anyone has been in a similar position can you share the outcome please? We have a 607sqm block in low density residential with no character overlay. The house is currently 115sqm and the proposed deck is approx 30sqm. It will be a raised deck off the 2nd story at the rear of the house, and will include a roof. 2 questions. Do you suspect we'll need council planning approval for this work? Is building approval always required regardless of whether Planning approval is or not?
