I am about to start a project to remove floor tiles, and replace with floating floorboards. I have removed a couple of tiles to see how much glue/cement has been used to stick the tiles down. Of course, as no project is ever easy, the previous tiler has completely covered the floor with the tile adhesive. The tiles come up easily enough, but there is a 10mm layer of adhesive that remains. It can also come up, but is very time consuming (it doesn't come up in large sections like the tiles do).
Provided all tiles are removed, and the surface is clean of dirt/dust, is it possible to have a levelling compound poured over the top of the adhesive, then the underlay and floating floorboards on top?
